GAGA
2013-11-05

Winning entry by Frances Edith Cooper for GAGA [The Global Architecture Graduate Awards], The Architectural Review's annual student awards. Cooper is a postgraduate student at the university of Auckland. In her thesis “Architecture of the synthetic, the spectacular and the belligerent” she proposes new, “anti-iconic” architectural solutions for the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland. I particularly liked her design process: “The design progressed through prolific bouts of making models, sketches and collages.” More in the October issue of The Architectural Review.
