I used to spend six months in Antwerp around 2011. In the neighborhood where I lived there was a small florist shop, with incredible shop windows. Sometimes just green moss, sometimes a never before seen flower installation. From time to time I used to get flowers from there. Just recently when I again returned to Antwerp, I went to see the beautiful shop again. I had to state that the shop isn’t there anymore. I felt quite said and then two days later I got to know that the shop has just moved and is flourishing more than ever. Its imaginative owner, Mark Colle has been receiving critical acclaim for his flower creations.

Nowadays I start to believe that there are no accidents.
The cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' album Push The Sky Away was shot in Nick Cave's personal home. Supposedly the photograph was not staged, Cave's wife was shot accidentally while changing costumes for another photo shoot, not for this particular album cover.

Still it needed a masterly skilled photographer who saw the potential in that moment. It is one of the best feelings to recognize the moment when everything falls into its place.

Crakows, also spelled crackowes were a style of shoes with extremely long toes, worn by both men and women first in the mid-14th century. Usually men's were the most extravagantly long. They fell from fashion after about 1480–90 and became also condemned by law.
Crakows were named after the city of Kraków (Cracow), Pol., and they were also known as poulaines (Polish).
Sometimes the point of the shoe would need support from a whalebone or a string tied to the leg (just below the knee) to stop the point getting in the way when walking. Examples from medieval London have the points stuffed with moss. [source: wiki and britannica]

I would like to go to work like this tomorrow.
Today I met an incredibly well dressed gentlemen on a Parisian street, possibly leaving from one of the menswear shows. We just looked at each others sartorial choices and slowly nodded to each other. I have never met him before and probably never will again, but this was such a moment that I will not forget. I kind of felt what Baudelaire writes about in his poem À une passante describing the impact a stylish woman had on him. Evoking the silhouette, the poise, the movement of the clothes, the moment.

OOIOO (pronounced oh-oh-eye-oh-oh)

Gamelan = a generic term for traditional musical ensembles of Java and Bali which comprises predominantly of percussive instruments. The word gamelan comes from the low Javanese word gamel, which may refer to a type of mallet of which instruments are struck with or the act of striking with a mallet.
Please listen to the enchanting 10-minute long song "Don Ah" by the Japanese band OOIOO.
It is the first track on their latest album "Gamel" which came out in Japan in 2013, and it is set to be released in North American on July 1 via Thrill Jockey .

Inspired by the work of carpet designer John Allen, and possibly also made with tufting (upholstery technique). Remarkable.
